Master's degree Civil Engineering

Accredited (full-time / part-time)

The Munich and Augsburg Universities of Applied Sciences cooperate in offering a master’s degree in Civil Engineering. The modular, three-semester degree programme builds on the bachelor’s degree courses available at both universities and provides comprehensive course offerings in the field of civil engineering.

The Master’s in Civil Engineering is a vocation-oriented degree programme based on scientific principles. It equips students with in-depth knowledge of all areas relating to civil engineering. There are three different specialisations to choose from across the two university locations:

• Structural Engineering (Munich University of Applied Sciences)

• Civil Engineering (Augsburg University of Applied Sciences)

• Steel-, Lightweight- and Glass Construction (Munich University of Applied Sciences)

The “Structural Engineering” specialisation incorporates a wide range of subjects, covering the key areas of civil engineering in detail, from construction and dimensioning to construction management, environmental protection, and building maintenance.
The “Civil Engineering” specialisation, combining geotechnology, traffic route construction, and residential water management, focuses on the creation, maintenance, and safeguarding of municipal and regional infrastructure.
The “Steel-, Lightweight- and Glass Construction” specialisation is the only course offering of its kind in Germany.

The master’s programme consists of three semesters when studying full-time and five semesters when studying part-time, and culminates in graduation with the academic title Master of Engineering (M.Eng.). Graduating from this course opens the doors to doctorate qualification at German and international universities.
